Call for Proposals - Information
We are inviting proposals for consideration for the 2009 Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) National Conference taking place June 21 - 24, 2009 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
What kind of program proposals are needed?
CACEE is seeking proposals which demonstrate innovation, best practices, research and emerging trends within our mission. CACEE is looking for sessions which are one to two hours in duration. The duration will be based on proposal content submitted. Our criteria is as follows:
- Career Educators: to prepare post-secondary students for a successful transition into their careers
- Employers/Recruiters: to attract, recruit and retain the right talent while on-campus.
As we’ve done at previous National Conferences, CACEE strives to offer diverse and engaging content to delegates. Below are some themes to guide you:
- Career Development
- Marketing/Branding
- Career Centre Management
- Program Innovations
- Diversity
- Ethics
- Experiential Learning
- Generational Recruitment & Retention
- Measurement and Accountability
- On-campus Recruitment
- Technology
If you have another area of interest, we encourage you to submit it as well.
Are collaborative proposals accepted?
Yes, absolutely. Partnerships and collaborations among and between career centres and employers are encouraged. One coordinating presenter should be selected and submit the proposal in his/her name, with other presenter(s) listed on the proposal.
What are the available program formats?
- Workshops: 60 minutes and a limited number of 120 minutes (back-to-back 60 minute sessions)
- Roundtable Discussions: 60 and 90 minute sessions
Is there a conference discount for presenters?
Yes, CACEE offers a $100 discount on conference registration.
May I promote my product or service at the conference?
While the objective of the workshops and roundtables must not be to “sell” a particular product and/or service we are pleased to be able to offer a popular exhibit space for this purpose. Please contact jennyf@cacee.com if you would like more information.

- Submission Deadline Extended: December 1, 2008
- Notification Acceptance: December 10, 2008
