F4- Demographics - Will be recruiting employees like sports stars? (Recruiter)

Daryl-Lynn Dagenais- Vertex Human Resources Solutions Inc.

Demographics and business demand dictate the job market. In 1956 when our parents were looking for jobs ..employers had great demand and they hired them one after another. In 1986 there were more qualified candidates than there were jobs. Job seekers had to work hard to get jobs at modest salaries .. many job seekers and new graduates did not find work.
In 2020 what are the demographic predictions? Will employers be attracting employees with car deals, fancy restaurants and signing bonus..s the way they do hockey stars? We will be coaching students on how to wheel and deal? It is already happening in fields like accounting where students are taken to 5 star dinners in limousines. In 2020 will we be coaching students on how to get an extra trip to Turks and Caicos?

Daryl-Lynn Dagenais, President, Vertex Human Resources Solutions Inc. Daryl is a graduate of McGill University with past experience at Donohue/Quebecor in the cash commodity market and at United Parcel Service first as a Human Resources supervisor, then as Employment Equity Co-ordinator for Canada. Immigration and integration policies in Québec, Canada and elsewhere will be discussed, with the aim of understanding the importance of migratory flows in relation to the social, economic and cultural development of the host societies and the players involved. More specifically, immigration will be examined from the perspective of human resources management in organizations, particularly the State as employer and private enterprise. Organizational practices and tools, particularly the competence audit adapted to newcomers, will be presented, as well as the results of a survey in progress under the EDIT project (Entreprises diversifiées et talentueuses .. diverse and talented companies) developed by the Conseil and its partners.

The National Bank..s motto in this matter is to ..make the transition from an organization that complies with the Employment Equity Act to an organization that views the value added by the different communities in terms of workforce, business development and competitive advantages.. Workforce diversification goes well beyond a recruiting strategy and must be monitored from hiring to integration to retention. This is not only a role for the organization..s human resources sector. It is also a corporate role, from upper management to line management.

As an employer, are there questions that you shouldn't be asking?  How else does information and privacy law affect the work we do?
