CACEE Elections FAQ
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR OFFICE?
- CACEE members in good standing who have fully paid annual dues as of Monsday, January 25th, 2010 may run for position on the National Board and the Regional Advisory Boards.
- CACEE members running for office must be full or life members; vendor members and type B affiliate members may not run for office.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO NOMINATE AND SECOND CANDIDATES?
- Full members (not vendor members) who have fully paid annual dues as of the day nominations close and life members may nominate candidates.
- Nominees for educator director or employer director on the National Board must be nominated by members of the same sector (educator or employer).
- Nominees for Regional Advisory Board positions must be nominated by members from that region.
WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS?
- Nominations close at 5:00 PM on March 5th, 2010.
WHEN DO ELECTIONS TAKE PLACE?
- Voting will take place between April 1st and April 30th, 2010
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE?
- CACEE full members (not vendor or type B affiliate members) in good standing who have fully paid membership dues and life members are eligible to vote.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND TIME COMMITMENTS FOR THESE POSITIONS?
- The amount of work required by these positions varies greatly from year to year and depending on the additional responsibilities that each volunteer accepts.
- The best source for information about the commitment required and the benefits of volunteering are the current Board members. Please speak with any National or Regional Advisory Board Member for further information and/or contact for the incumbents.
WHAT BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED?
- Biographical information will only be required from a nominee if an election is necessary (i.e. there are more candidates nominated than positions available).
- Subsequent to the closing of nominations, affected nominees will be requested to provide a brief biographical summary including information about their interest in, and involvement with, and aspirations for CACEE.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS SHOULD A CANDIDATE HAVE?
- Candidates for all positions should have a sound, general appreciation of the purpose and programs of CACEE as well as the needs and concerns of at least one CACEE interest group.
- Candidates should be willing to contribute additional time and effort to lead or participate in committees and working groups.
- Candidates should be willing to act as an advocate and ambassador for the association.
