The 2026 CACEE Canada West PD event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your career education and campus recruitment colleagues from across western Canada and beyond! You can expect an event that will feature:
Connect with colleagues as you arrive and get settled for the day.
Join our hosts and MC for words of welcome as we kick-start a full day of learning, idea exchange, and collaboration. We’ll then move into a brief opening activity to set the tone for the day, ignite discussion, and support community building.
This session will examine current labour market trends and their implications for students, career educators, and employers. Together, we’ll explore how to inspire student readiness and hope, how career educators can stay current and lead with empathy in uncertain times, and how employers can effectively engage and nurture their future talent pipeline
Time to connect, continue the conversation, and recharge.
An exploration of how generative AI can complement professional expertise when working with students in specialized areas and career pathways, as well as in broader talent conversations. Through practical tools and frameworks, case studies, and hands-on exploration of platforms such as NotebookLM, participants will examine how to identify where students may be stuck, strengthen coaching conversations, and support more informed hiring and talent engagement practices.
Enjoy lunch and informal conversation with colleagues at one of the many dining options available close to the Northeastern Vancouver campus.
A showcase of concrete examples of how alumni can be engaged to support student skill development, mentorship, work integrated learning, and campus recruitment. We will explore how alumni can strengthen representation in EDI programming, support students entering the workplace, and help build and sustain talent pipelines. Participants will reflect on how these approaches can be adapted and applied within their own contexts.
(Re)ignite connections with your peers and recharge for the final sessions of the day.
Hear directly from employers about current hiring trends, evolving expectations, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration.
Close your event experience by reflecting on key insights and takeaways from the day, identify your next steps, and share in the collective expertise of the professionals in attendance at the CACEE Canada West PD Event.
Join us at a nearby venue to continue the conversation in a relaxed setting and deepen connections across the Canada West region.
