9:00 am – Arrival + Registration + Networking

Connect with colleagues as you arrive and get settled for the day.

9:15 am – Welcome + Land Acknowledgement + Opening Activity

Join our hosts and MC for words of welcome as we kick-start a full day of learning, idea exchange, and collaboration. We’ll then move into a brief opening activity to set the tone for the day, ignite discussion, and support community building.

9:30 am – Labour Market Realities: What They Mean for Students, Career Educators, and Employers

This session will examine current labour market trends and their implications for students, career educators, and employers. Together, we’ll explore how to inspire student readiness and hope, how career educators can stay current and lead with empathy in uncertain times, and how employers can effectively engage and nurture their future talent pipeline

11:00 am – Networking Break

Time to connect, continue the conversation, and recharge.

11:15 am – Generative AI in Practice: Supporting Post-Secondary Career Development & Talent Conversations

An exploration of how generative AI can complement professional expertise when working with students in specialized areas and career pathways, as well as in broader talent conversations. Through practical tools and frameworks, case studies, and hands-on exploration of platforms such as NotebookLM, participants will examine how to identify where students may be stuck, strengthen coaching conversations, and support more informed hiring and talent engagement practices.

12:30 pm – Lunch

Enjoy lunch and informal conversation with colleagues  at one of the many dining options available close to the Northeastern Vancouver campus.

1:30 pm – Activating Alumni: Practical Approaches to Engagement and Impact

A showcase of concrete examples of how alumni can be engaged to support student skill development, mentorship, work integrated learning, and campus recruitment. We will explore how alumni can strengthen representation in EDI programming, support students entering the workplace, and help build and sustain talent pipelines. Participants will reflect on how these approaches can be adapted and applied within their own contexts.

2:30 pm – Networking Break

(Re)ignite connections with your peers and recharge for the final sessions of the day.

2:45 pm – Employer Panel: Perspectives on Partnership, Engagement & the Recruitment Climate

Hear directly from employers about current hiring trends, evolving expectations, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration.

3:45 pm – Closing Reflection Activity + Informal Practice Exchange + Wrap-Up

Close your event experience by reflecting on key insights and takeaways from the day, identify your  next steps, and share in the collective expertise of the professionals in attendance at the CACEE Canada West PD Event.

4:00 pm - Networking Social

Transfers, Cancellations & Event Policies

CACEE understands that from time to time work and life commitments may emerge that will result in your inability to attend the event. Should you need to make an adjustment to or cancel your registration, please e-mail the CACEE National Office at events@cacee.com We ask that you also please kindly note the following policies:

Transfer of Registration

CACEE is able to transfer your registration to another professional from your organization up until the time the registration opens on the day of the event. 

Cancellations

Cancellation requests received:

  • Up to February 28th are eligible for a 100% refund minus a $25 administration fee.
  • March 1st - April 1st are eligible for a 50% refund
  • No refunds will be issued after April 2nd.

In lieu of refunds, you are able to transfer your registration at no cost to another professional from your organization up until the time registration opens on the day of the event in accordance with CACEE's transfer policy and procedures.

Other Event Policies 

  • If payment is not received prior to the opening of registration on-site at the event venue, CACEE reserves the right to cancel an attendee's/attendees' registration(s) without prejudice or liability.
  • CACEE reserves the right at any time to change the event venue, topics or speakers, and to cancel the event without prejudice or liability, other than, except where a force majeure (which will have the same meaning as in the applicable contracts with the third party suppliers in connection with the event) event applies, a refund of the registration fees paid. If, because of a force majeure event(s), the CACEE National Board of Directors determines that the event needs to be cancelled, CACEE may deduct fees (determined by reference to the amounts which CACEE is required to pay to third parties under contracts entered into in connection with the event) to any and all refunds issued. Copies of the contractual arrangements with third parties, including the force majeure provisions of those contracts, can be made available to members on request.
  • CACEE follows the guidance of local public health authorities and event venues in relation to health protocols and event policies.  This includes but is not limited to any public health orders or venue requirements (e..g. masking, vaccination) in place prior to or that take effect during the event.
