The 2026 CACEE Campus Talent Checkpoint brings together career educators, employers, and leaders for bold conversations, idea-sharing, and collaboration as we unpack the 2025-26 campus recruitment season and look ahead to the future!

What to Expect?

Through a plenary panel, two rounds of small group discussions, a student panel, insights into national data, a programming showcase, and closing reflection you will gain practical takeaways to inform your campus recruitment, career education, and early talent strategy for 2026-27.

Together, we will:

  • Engage in focused discussions to share best practices, troubleshoot challenges, and strengthen partnerships
  • Learn from employer leaders navigating recruitment pauses, scaling programs, and responsible technology adoption
  • Hear directly from students about what supports their career clarity and success
  • Build meaningful connections across the CACEE network

Key Themes 

The program for the Campus Talent Checkpoint centres around four themes:

  • Maintaining and Strengthening the Skills Pipeline in the Current Campus Recruitment Climate
  • Pivoting or Piloting Early Talent Programs in Evolving Contexts
  • Scaling Responsibly Through Technology and Innovation
  • Empowering Access and Broadening Participation in Early Talent Career Pathways

You will have the opportunity to explore these themes through employer insights, facilitated breakout discussions, national data, student voices, and collaborative reflection.

Agenda

8:30 am – Arrival + Networking + Refreshments

Get you know your colleagues and fuel-up over refreshments for the day ahead.

8:50 am – Words of Welcome + Land Acknowledgement

Join our hosts and MC for words of welcome and a kick-start to a full day of learning, idea exchange, and collaboration.

9:00 am – Opening Plenary Panel with Campus Recruitment & Early Talent Leaders

A moderated and interactive dialogue with:

Together, we will unpack trends from the 2025-26 campus recruitment season, explore the key themes underpinning the Campus Talent Checkpoint, exchange practices and ideas, and address your top-of-mind questions to inform your work.

10:15 am – Small Group Discussions - Round #1

Select your first key theme to take a deeper dive into and explore with your colleagues. Golden nuggets and top takeaways from each group will be captured and shared during the plenary debrief.

10:45 am – Small Group Discussions – Round #2

Choose your second key theme to examine and discuss with your colleagues. Golden nuggets and top takeaways will again be captured and shared before we break for lunch.

11:15 am – Partner Spotlight - TECHNATION: Empowering Access through BNEXT, Infuse, PRISM and Indigenous Pathways

Join Madison Edwards - Program Manager | TECHNATION as you learn about four unique programs that are inclusive and promote beloging by design.  

11:30 am – Plenary and Small Group Discussion Debrief

Share key insights and takeaways from both the opening plenary and the thematic small group discussions in this debrief with the larger group.

12:00 pm – Lunch + Fireside Chat

Featuring findings from the 2025 Career Centre Resources, Services, and Metrics: A Pan-Canadian Benchmarking Survey Report

Enjoy a delicious lunch and examine CACEE commissioned national benchmarking data in the context of campus recruitment, employer relations, and post-secondary - industry partnerships.

1:30 pm – Student Panel Conversation

Hear directly from our primary interest holders, students, in this moderated conversation exploring their needs, challenges, and experiences in the current campus recruitment climate. We will also explore what works to optimize student engagement and in building critical relationships with student groups on campus.

2:45 pm –  Reflection+ Networking Break

Consider and reflect on your key takeaways from the day so far and keep the conversations going with colleagues throughout your break.

3:00 pm – YorkU Spotlight Sessions & Event Wrap-Up

Hear about initiatives and programming underway across the York University career and experiential learning ecosystem. These spotlight sessions will demonstrate practical approaches to addressing the challenges and opportunities connected to our key themes. There will be time to ask questions, share examples from your own context, and engage in some blue-sky thinking together as we close out the formal program.

4:00 pm – Employer | Career Centre Connections Networking Social

Foster connections, exchange ideas, further conversations and explore opportunities for collaboration with your colleagues in an informal and relaxed setting.

5:00 pm – Event Closing + Departure

This event is targeted to campus recruitment, career education and employer relations specialists. Whether you are a talent acquisition professional, leader of an early talent program, hiring manager, work-integrated learning or experiential learning coordinator, career educator, industry partnerships representative, or senior leader, there will be concrete takeaways you can apply in your day-to-day work and future planning cycles.

CACEE is committed to keeping this event as financially accessible as possible. The pricing is as follows:

  • Early Bird Rate- until April 8th: CACEE Members - $139 | Non-Members - $189
  • Standard Rate - April 9th - 13th:  CACEE Members- $159 | Non-Members - $259

Cancellations, Transfers, & Event Policies -

CACEE understands that from time to time work and life commitments may emerge that will result in your inability to attend the event. Should you need to make an adjustment to or cancel your registration, please e-mail the CACEE National Office at events@cacee.com We ask that you also please kindly note the following policies:

Transfer of Registration

CACEE is able to transfer your registration to another professional from your organization up until the time the registration opens on the day of the event. 

Cancellations

Cancellation requests received:

  • Up to March 15th are eligible for a refund minus a $25 administration fee
  • Up to April 1st are eligible for a 50% refund
  • No refunds will be issued after April 1st

In lieu of refunds, you are able to transfer your registration at no cost to another professional from your organization up until registration opens on the day of event in accordance with CACEE's transfer policy and procedures.

Other Event Policies 

  • If payment is not received  72-hours prior to the event, CACEE reserves the right to cancel an attendee's/attendees' registration(s) without prejudice or liability.
  • CACEE reserves the right at any time to change the event venue, topics or speakers, and to cancel the event without prejudice or liability, other than, except where a force majeure (which will have the same meaning as in the applicable contracts with the third party suppliers in connection with the event) event applies, a refund of the registration fees paid. If, because of a force majeure event(s), the CACEE National Board of Directors determines that the event needs to be cancelled, CACEE may deduct fees (determined by reference to the amounts which CACEE is required to pay to third parties under contracts entered into in connection with the event) to any and all refunds issued. Copies of the contractual arrangements with third parties, including the force majeure provisions of those contracts, can be made available to members on request.
  • CACEE follows the guidance of local public health authorities and event venues in relation to health protocols and event policies.  This includes but is not limited to any public health orders or venue requirements (e..g. masking, vaccination) in place prior to or that take effect during the event.
