SUMMARY:A Pan-Canadian Community of Practice for Senior Career Services L
eaders at Colleges, Institutes, and Polytechnics
DESCRIPTION:-- Calling All Senior Career Services Leaders from Colleges,
Institutes and Polytechnics... --\n\n-- CACEE invites you to join a Comm
unity of Practice (CoP) that is uniquely tailored to your needs, challen
ges, and professional learning. --\n\n-- What? --\n\nThe CoP is driven a
nd informed by the community it serves, with an intent to:\n\n* Explore
emerging trends, issues, and topics identified as a collective\n\n* Supp
ort you in generating solutions and pragmatic approaches to common chall
enges, opportunities, and what is keeping you up at night\n\n* Be a spac
e to share resources, exchange ideas, challenge one another, spark innov
ation, celebrate the wins, and examine common issues in a space focused
on leadership\n\n* Evolve with the college, institute, and polytechnic n
ational landscape\n\nThe infrastructure, logistics support, and technolo
gy underpinning the CoP will be provided by the Canadian Association of
Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).\n\n The CoP will leverage 3 pla
tforms to engage and facilitate dialogue amongst its members:\n\n* A nat
 ional Listerv and e-mail distribution list\n\n* A minimum of 2 virtual r
oundtable sessions per year\n\n* 1 in-person roundtable session annually
as a part of the CACEE National Conference\n\n** The Listserv will be o
pen to all members of the CoP at no cost as a value-add to the sector.
In order to attend future virtual  and in-person roundtable sessions,
members will need to be a part of both the CoP and CACEE.\n\n-- When? --
\n\nAn inaugural session for the CoP is scheduled for Wednesday  June 2
 8th, 2023 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm Eastern. \n\nYou can register below and
there is no cost to attend.  A zoom link and logistics will be sent to
you in the days leading up to the session.\n\nIf you are interested in
being a part of the CoP, but not able to attend on June 28th, please rea
ch out to us at info@cacee.com.  We are happy to provide you with furth
er information and next steps alongside its official launch.\n\n-- Who?
--\n\nThis CoP will best serve professionals with operational, strategic
, and financial accountability for the career services function on their
campus, in their faculty or at their institution in any region of Canad
a.\n\nIn the spirit of fairness, it is requested that only the most seni
or leader from each institution be a part of the CoP. The exception of
course being, where there are leaders at a similar job level at an insti
tution with multiple campuses, decentralized operations, or faculty-base
d career services.\n\n** Please note that the Listserv will be open to a
ll those in roles aligned to the criteria above as a value add to the se
ctor.  In order to be a part of future in-person and virtual roundtable
sessions, members need to be a part of both the CoP and CACEE.\n\nCACE
E intends to offer additional CoPs as a part of our professional communi
ty tailored to the needs of frontline practitioners, disciplines/student
identities, and employers.  Stay tuned as these may also be of interes
t to you or your team!\n\n-- Why? --\n\nIt is commonly understood that t
he professional development needs and opportunities, challenges, and  i
ssues faced by Senior Career Services Leaders at Colleges, Institutes, a
nd Polytechnics are distinct.\n\nIn consultation with the sector, it bec
ame clear that creating a CoP with a national scope would add significan
t value, foster greater opportunities for collaboration and best practic
e sharing, and further professional learning and development across the
space.\n\nJoin the conversation and share your perspectives on the topic
s that CoP will explore by signing up for the inaugural session on  Jun
e 28th below!  If you have questions or would like to discuss this CoP
in greater detail , please reach out to the CACEE National Office at inf
 o@cacee.com.
