Ethics Committee

Purpose:

The Ethics Committee develops, reviews and interprets policy in matters pertaining to the practice of on-campus recruiting. It is to serve in an advisory capacity and it may make recommendations to the National Board on matters related to ethical practice and conduct. The Committee will contribute to the professional development of CACEE members to enhance their awareness of ethics in professional practice.

Duties:

  1. Shall interpret Association policy in matters pertaining to questions of breach of the Association’s code of ethics concerning the practice of recruiting/placing students and graduates from Canadian post-secondary educational institutions.
  2. Shall review policies, guidelines, or position statements related to ethical practice and advise the National Board on their deliberations. Policy elements to be reviewed shall include, but are not limited to:
  3. All policies, guidelines, or position statements related to ethical practice shall be reviewed every five years, or fewer. Alternately, reviews may be undertaken by Board mandate.
  4. May be called upon from time to time to consider questions of policy related to the practice of recruiting/placing students and graduates from Canadian post-secondary educational institutions, and to make recommendations regarding the development of policy.
  5. May monitor member actions, or actions of non-members engaged with members, in matters related to ethical practice and conduct. Member education on the matter of best practices and code of conduct may also be a responsibility of the committee.
  6. May usually, but not exclusively, become engaged in matters following receipt of a complaint. The complaint may originate with a member or a non-member, but it must involve a member in order for the Committee to have a mandate.

Compositions:

  1. Shall be Co-chaired by a Full Member of CACEE and the CACEE Executive Director
  2. Shall reserve seats for representative from CACEE’s regional advisory boards
  3. May invite other members who may offer specific skills, experience or insight, as needed.
  4. May invite contributions from individuals, who shall not be committee members, as needed.
