Job Description / Duties

Student Affairs is a collection of integrated units that collaborates with faculty, staff and students to enhance the student experience. We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of evidence-based student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Director, Advising and Careers, the Coordinator, Employer Engagement & Events will establish and develop relationships with employers to enhance the career development and on-campus recruitment activities for Dalhousie students while implementing an array of services, programs and events that support students in their employability and career development, with a focus on equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities
-Identify, foster and maintain relationships with potential and existing employers. Collaborate with the Director and campus partners on employer recruitment and retention strategies, including with the Office of Advancement to recruit alumni and employer contacts.
-Advise employers on effective, and equitable and inclusive strategies to recruit Dalhousie students and alumni.
-Collaborate with team members and campus partners on campus to coordinate on-campus recruitment activities and employability programming for students and alumni with a focus on forwarding equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.
-Design effective models for connecting students with alumni and employers, working collaboratively with campus partners to develop and implement both new and existing opportunities.
-Support the coordination and implementation of employer development events and services. This may include communications, marketing and promotion; correspondence with employers; and logistical coordination.
-Manage the online recruitment platform myCareer for the unit. Provide support and training for other users; manage system updates and account access; complete data collection and reporting; and make recommendations regarding user experience improvements.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Undergraduate degree in relevant field plus approximately three to five years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Experience in event planning and management as well as experience working with information systems, online recruitment platforms or database management is required. Must have proven experience building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance. Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills are required. Must have demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills working independently in a deadline driven environment. Assets include competency developing equity, diversity, inclusion and access practices and programming; and experience in the post-secondary sector and/or in leading and managing complex projects.

Salary: $52,669 - $71,260 per annum
