Category: OtherThe Employer Engagement Coordinator provides operational support to the development of a robust employer engagement strategy to support the goals and engagement targets of the Talent Partnership Team in CCWIL. This role is primarily responsible for the planning and coordination of various employer engagement activities and events and works to enhance the quality, capacity, and sustainability of employer engagement to promote student, graduate, alumni, and client recruitment.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required.
Employer Engagement:
• Develops an annual employer engagement calendar of activities as appropriate and markets the activities and events with internal and external stakeholders;
• Develops an annual budget for employer engagement activities and events. tracks revenue and expenses. Liaises with Financial Services to troubleshoot payment and refund issues;
• Works with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to develop any necessary marketing collateral to promote employer engagement events and activities to faculty, staff, alumni, clients and students;
• Provides employers with information about engagement opportunities such as information sessions, employer panels, program/industry specific events, job fairs etc. and recommends appropriate engagement activity;
• Develops innovative employer engagement activities and works with employers to customize events and activities to benefit employers and student/client groups;
• Coordinates virtual and on campus engagement activities with the appropriate faculty/staff, student/client groups and other stakeholders. Develops event plans, documents and materials, briefing notes, and ensures requisite facilities, IT, parking, catering services have been secured and confirmed for on campus events, and coordinates virtual event set-up;
• Organizes and schedules staff and volunteers to work and participate in event
• Promotes employer engagement activities and events to internal and external stakeholders as required;
• Manages registrations and tracks participation and engagement and identifies trends and opportunities for enhanced participation. Follows-up on employer issues or complaints.
• Reports on event metrics and survey findings with a view to continuous improvement.
Job Fairs
The Incumbent plans, coordinates and executes job and career fairs (virtual and in person) for Conestoga students, alumni and job seekers such as the Conestoga Job Fair, and the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Job Fair. In this capacity the Coordinator:
• Develops event plan and tracks revenue and expenses. Liaises with Financial Services to troubleshoot payment and refund issues;
• Ensures facilities, rentals, IT, parking/security, catering have been secured and confirmed for on campus events. In the case of virtual events, configures event in Symplicity Virtual Career Fair platform;
• Oversees employer registration and onboarding. Problem solves employer registration issues and strategically manages employer waitlist;
• Works with Marketing & Communications Coordinator to develop employer, faculty and student marketing collateral. Coordinates employer, faculty and student promotion via email, social media and on campus;
• Schedules CCWIL staff for support prior to, during and following the event as required;
• Tracks student attendance for major employer events such as job and career fairs. Identifies trends and opportunities for enhanced participation;
• Develops and issues employer satisfaction surveys
• Reports on event metrics and survey findings with a view to continuous improvement.
• Three-year Diploma/Degree in Public Relations, Business, Marketing, or related field of study
• Three years of experience in event management, public relations, or marketing.
• Demonstrated event management skills with the capacity to successfully plan, coordinate and execute major events
• Capacity to think strategically, creatively and independently to build robust long-term relationships with stakeholders and employers;
• Well-developed relationship management skills including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
• Excellent oral/written, presentation and marketing communication skills
• Knowledge of the Canadian labour market, Conestoga College programs, and trends/best practices in student recruitment
• A high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and commitment to excellent customer service
Salary: $33.05 to $38.37 per hour
