Job Description / Duties

In support of the larger goals of the University Experiential Education Strategic Plan, the Experiential Education Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of academic and operational activities of Experiential Education (EE) including the design, development, implementation and evaluation of EE initiatives (course focused, community focused, work-focused, in the classroom or online), and any other EE activities for the Faculty of Health.

Reporting to the Director, Global and Community Partnerships, the EE Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of the Faculty of Health community partnerships that are mutually beneficial and foster student engagement through linking theory and practice and providing opportunities for practical experience related to areas of study.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education -

University Degree in a related field or four years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience -

Two (2) years recent experience (as defined within the last 5 years) coordinating a post-secondary EE program (i.e. in course EE, practicums), using a Student Information System and/or similar database/customer relationship management system.

Skills -

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate and assimilate complex information.
  • Keyboarding 50 wpm.
  • Sound knowledge of EE theory and practice.
  • Proven research and analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proven success in establishing collaborative partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Excellent track record of building and maintaining business networks and relationships to achieve position/department objectives.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement improved processes.
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills achieving results.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Technical Skills -

  • MS Word - intermediate to advanced level,
  • MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint - intermediate level, Email & MS Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of web design tools (i.e. HTML, FTP).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform internet searches.

Salary: $70,516.00
