Description:
Reporting directly to the Director, Management Co-operative Education Programs, and working collaboratively with the Supervisor of Studies, the Coordinator is responsible for supervising and implementing all co-op and non-academic programmatic aspects of the Specialist in Management and International Business (MIB) Co-op Program. The main areas of responsibility include student programming and advising, student career development, employer development, marketing, student recruitment and admissions, and internal/external communications and relations.  Duties include: identifying, developing and maintaining positive relations with employers and overseas educational institutions; sourcing and securing overseas work opportunities for MIB students; establishing and coordinating the admissions process; participating in the selection of students for admission into the program; overseeing and coordinating all programming aspects of the MIB co-op work and study terms; providing advice and counselling to students and employers; identifying, creating and participating in forums  to market the MIB program to prospective students, employers and other educational institutions.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
University degree in relevant area(s) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
At least three years experience in the administration of educational programming, career advising or career development. An additional one year of experience in international job development/relationship building.  Experience working in an international environment is a definite asset.

Skills:
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MSWord, Excel, Access, Presentation software, web editing software, relational databases, and the Internet. 

Other:
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.  Must have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills; tact, diplomacy, and professionalism; results-orientation and time-management skills; highly developed presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.  Must be available to travel internationally on an occasional basis.  Knowledge of cross-cultural hiring practices and a second language would be an asset.

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate:
12 -- $58,792 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $75,185. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.

Notes:
This is a two year term position with possibility of renewal.
