Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities
The Relationship Developer exists to increase opportunities for Western students and alumni to be successful in finding meaningful employment. This is accomplished through three key interrelated activities:

1. Identifies the competencies of Western students and alumni through a thorough understanding of Western's academic and co-curricular programs. Advocates for the employment of Western grads using this understanding.

2. Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders such as Western faculties/programs, community

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education:
- University Degree required
- Western graduate from an undergraduate or graduate degree preferred
- Canadian Institute of Management certificate program, HR Professional in addition to an
undergraduate degree preferred

Experience:
- 2-3 years experience managing client relationships with global and national corporate and community based organizations
- 2-3 years experience in planning and implementing recruitment strategies, such as event planning,marketing, sponsorships, and donors
- 2-3 years experience in business development, marketing and sales
- 2-3 years experience negotiating and maintaining vendor and sponsorship contracts
- 2-3 years experience working in a university environment preferred with a student service background
- 2-3 years experience leading/supervising/orienting staff and volunteers would be an asset
- Experience in an HR, executive coaching, career management, outplacement or executive search role is an asset

Skills & Expertise:
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders (e.g. global and national organizations, corporate recruiters, faculty, staff and students at Western)
- Strong skill in networking and sales
- Expertise in sponsorships, marketing and promotions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain the trust of contacts
- Sound ability to manage multi-faceted projects
- Astute attention to detail (e.g. managing revenue and expenses, reporting, event logistics)
- Sound judgment and strong problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills and ability to influence an audience
- Excellent organization and time management skills including the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to create promotional material
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required
- Proficiency with CareerCentral, Maximizer is preferred
- Excellent knowledge of the North American business/job market and evidence of market research skills to identify and track trends
- Solid knowledge of social marketing trends
- Comprehensive knowledge of career development issues in order to serve as an "expert" and liaison between the Student Success Centre and campus partners
- Knowledge of Western's policies and procedures

- Demonstrated passion for Western and the potential of Western students and grads
- High energy, creative, demonstrated flexibility and a positive personality
- Customer service orientation
- Valid driver's license
- Access to a personal vehicle

Classification & Regular Hours
Hours of Work: 35 per week (will be required to work outside of normal business hours to attend recruiter information sessions, workshops and other recruiting and networking related events)
