Job Description / Duties

Under the direction of the TRU Career Education Department, the Cooperative Education Coordinator will work with students, alumni, and prospective employers. This work may include teaching pre-employment career seminars, advising students on career development/planning/management; employer liaison and developing employment opportunities with organizations, corporations and agencies; organizing career events.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Master's degree relevant to the Career Education Field

Minimum of 3 years’ experience relevant to the Career Education Field

Extensive related experience working with industry, business and/or not-for-profits

Demonstrated instructional skills in a post-secondary setting

Superior time management, written and oral communication skills required

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations (including students [domestic and international], employers, faculty, deans, administrators and alumni) are required

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential

Knowledge of regional, provincial, national, and international labour market information

Strong computing skills are required
