As the director, you will provide strong leadership for Ryerson Career Centre staff and will articulate a clear and exceptional vision for career/professional development and engagement opportunities for all Ryerson students.
Our students and alumni are the strength of our institution and you will need to have extensive experience understanding student needs and developing programming that makes sense in our culturally diverse university. We are proud to be a unique and career-focused university - you will come in contact with a variety of students studying in diverse programs and learning zones. As an example, you may come in contact with students from our undergraduate program in dance, or urban planning to graduate students in our PhD program in psychology in the same hour. You must be a demonstrated leader in career development for a diverse student population and new alumni.
In keeping with our culture, you must be a cultivator of entrepreneurship in students and an intrapreneur with the ability to build relationships with partners at Ryerson. With the changes to the Ryerson Career Centre, in the role as the new Director you will endeavor to create a broader ecosystem of career development support for students – one that includes faculty, staff, employers, alumni, parents, community stakeholders , and other students.

To help us learn more about you please provide a cover letter and resume about how you meet the following specific qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Master’s Degree program, in an academic discipline that is transferable to the role (ie: Human Resources, education, counseling, curriculum development, higher education administration, student affairs) – with a focus on career development, entrepreneurship, small business, business development and/or politics;
- Extensive experience in providing services to and providing personal/career development opportunities for post-secondary students in a collaborative manner is preferred. Understanding of working in a student affairs/student services environment will be a valuable asset;
- A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in leadership development, management of organizational change, community development and engagement, programming planning and evaluation, managing human resources and budgets, marketing and promotions, program assessment and evaluation, revenue generation, and understanding of university organizations and culture. Experience leading the development of career education experiences for students will be a valuable asset.

Salary: $81,355 - $130,169
