Category: Technicalhe Marketing & Systems Coordinator works closely with UTSC Information, Instructional & Technology Services (IITS), tri-campus system coordinators and with the Department of Communications & Public Affairs to ensure that both marketing and system requirements and needs are met and progressed for the AA&CC, and are in alignment with broader UTSC guidelines and standards. The incumbant oversees the day-to-day functioning of the tri-campus Career Learning Network (CLN) system at UTSC, which operates as the coordination hub for AA&CC programs, services and events. The position works with the AA&CC team to troubleshoot CLN issues, provide support for upgrades and enhancements, provide training, and proactively identify opportunities for improvements to the system. The Marketing & Systems Coordinator designs, develops, implements and maintains vibrant and engaging web and marketing campaigns, social media communication and promotional materials (ie. giveaways like pens, water bottles, bags, bookmarks, etc.) on behalf of the department in an innovative, creative, efficient, effective and sustainable manner. In doing so, the position works closely with the Department of Communications & Public Affairs, IITS and other Student Affairs departments to seek and share advice and expertise, and to discuss best practices, standards, and templates to achieve objectives. The position also supervises work study student staff that support the web and marketing activities for the department, including their recruitment, training, coaching and supervision.
The Marketing & Systems Coordinator proactively reviews all aspects of AA&CC marketing and systems to make recommendations for improvement to the management team and the Director, and takes action to implement approved recommendations with a user-centric approach. The position utilizes feedback from all users/audiences, colleagues and team members and leverages collaboration with campus partners to inform their recommendations and overall design processes. This position actively contributes to U of T’s tri-campus mandate and fosters an increasingly seamless experience for students and employers. Their skilled creativity and results-orientation will continue to strengthen awareness of the AA&CC and foster meaningful, engaging experiences for students, employers, alumni, faculty, staff and other community members.
Qualifications
: Education:
University degree in marketing, communications, digital media, information studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
• At least four (4) years experience developing, designing and implementing user-focused marketing promotional materials, including social media, print, e-newsletters and videos. At least three (3) of the four (4) years experience should also demonstrate skills and knowledge in support of a complex information system (e.g. Orbis or Symplicity database platform) including end user support, troubleshooting issues, and improving the day-to-day functioning and user experience.
• Experience in databases, web design and development, and graphic design is required.
• Prior experience coaching and supervising casual staff is strongly preferred.
• Experience in video production is preferred.
• Experience designing and developing e-learning tools would be an asset.
Skills:
Advanced user-centred web and multi-media design and development skills, including advanced content management and analytics, and maintaining and developing complex websites that comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards. Well-developed computer skills with desktop publishing and graphic design (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Publisher), website design and development (i.e. WordPress, Drupal, HTML, Google Analytics), and use of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook. Advanced writing and editing skills for social media, web and print materials content. Must have excellent customer service, project management, verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. Must also possess excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, tact, patience, flexibility, adaptability, energy and initiative. Photography and videography skills are assets.

Salary: Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW10 -- $56,168 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $71,829. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
