COORDINATOR, EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT, GRADE 8 BEEDIE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES – SFU VANCOUVER

POSITION OUTLINE:

The Coordinator, Employer Engagement, manages the Beedie School of Business ‘Mentors in Business’ (MIB) program, including managing the program budget, accepting and orienting students into the program, and recruiting mentors. The incumbent serves as ex officio member of three corporate advisory boards at SFU Beedie; assists in recruiting new members for the corporate advisory boards and coordinates, schedules, and plans the advisory board meetings in collaboration with the board Chairs. The Coordinator manages a subset of the Beedie School of Business ‘Speakers in the Classroom’ program; provides employer relations support services (i.e., provides referrals, maintains records, and attends industry events to develop new employer relationships); and produces regular reports on MIB Program business development progress and industry trends. The incumbent participates in strategic and operational planning for the Graduate Career Management Centre (CMC) and makes recommendations to CMC staff to enhance the effectiveness of CMC programs and initiatives; develops metrics and evaluation systems to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services; and acts as the Director’s representative on various campus or faculty committees as needed. Please note: This position is located at the Segal School of Business, 500 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, and three years of relevant experience including experience in client relations; employer services; career services; corporate recruiting; marketing; and/or event management, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Good knowledge of career services trends and corporate recruiting practices.
  • Good knowledge of business functional areas or industries (i.e., finance, banking, investment banking, asset management, insurance, etc.).
  • Some knowledge of student development, counseling, and the unique needs of graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish interpersonal rapport with individuals from a wide variety of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds (ranging from CEOs to potential graduate and undergraduate students).
  • Ability to work with, coach, and advise highly demanding clients.
  • Ability to interact with corporate recruiters and facilitate their successful recruitment of students.
  • Ability to lead and/or participate on multiple team projects and events.
  • Ability to develop metrics and evaluation systems, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Proficient in use of standard business software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

SALARY RANGE: $57,977 to $69,236 per annum
