• Develop new and maintain existing relationships with external and internal stakeholders; outlining available department services, programs and resources
• Conduct individual career and employment appointments with Arts students
• Coach students and graduates on all aspects of career and employment development in a variety of ways via self-assessment; resume, cover letter, and portfolio development; interview preparation; advising on salary negotiations, work-search strategies, labour market research and career exploration; and providing tips for employment search, job maintenance, career progression, and transition
• Provide high quality referrals to career and employment resources and services by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of different formal and informal career exploration strategies and tools, student and graduate employment programs and related community services
• Develop and deliver presentations and workshops on career building, job search, employer expectations, interviews, and other employment and career planning topics; manage workshop and presentation scheduling
• Research, revise, and/or create career and employment educational material and online content aimed at students, graduates, and other key stakeholders
• Create and implement project plans and proposals, working collaboratively with team members, Arts faculty members, and Supervisor on project scope and implementation planning
• Adhere to department reporting and documentation guidelines; providing regular written and verbal reports and updates on all work aspects and projects as required
• Assist with special event implementation, projects or research as required
• Bachelor Degree in combination with 5-8 years of career and employment development experience; professional career development certification (i.e. CCDP) preferred
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of employment expectations in multiple industries and career/employment strategies to coach students and graduates in skills required to secure employment; strong knowledge of the programs and career options available within the faculty of Arts an asset
• Excellent communication, coaching and facilitation skills, with an in-depth knowledge of presentation planning, public speaking, research methods, curriculum development, resource materials, learning styles and delivery methods
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Apps (e-mail and calendar platform) with experience working with contact management database systems
• Proven ability to work independently and within an interdependent, multi-functional team structure
• A proven track record of professionalism, problem-solving, time and project management, organizational skills, and diplomacy
Salary: $32.26/hour. Part-time position (21 hours per week)

Reporting to the Career Education and Employment Development Supervisor, the successful candidate will work within a cross functional team to support and enhance the employment and career goals of Mount Royal students and graduates, focusing on those in the Faculty of Arts.
The Coordinator will engage in career development work with Arts students through individual coaching sessions or customized workshops, events and activities. The incumbent will also be responsible for marketing department services and leading outreach initiatives aimed at key internal and external stakeholders. The goal is to support the specific career and employment needs of students in the Arts faculty. This position is also accountable to both lead and participate in team-based projects, create project plans and work with other team members and faculty as a collaborative means to draw on skill synergy and achieve department objectives.
