10:00 - 11:15 am - Applying Teaching & Learning Principles in Career Education and Campus Recruitment Programming 

Understanding what drives adult learners is key to creating meaningful and impactful learning experiences. This session explores core motivations for adult learners, the role of active learning principles—especially debriefing—in deepening engagement, and the fundamental anatomy of a well-structured workshop. Whether you're designing training sessions, workshops, or educational programs, you'll leave with practical strategies to create dynamic, learner-centered experiences.

11:15 am - 11:30 am - Networking & Connection Break

11:30 am - 12:30 pm - Decolonizing Campus Career Services - A Starting Point

How can we decolonize or indigenize career services in meaningful ways? Grounded in Métis Nation BC’s indigenized model of career counselling, this session begins with relationship and recognizing the importance of understanding clients’ holistic needs. Together, we’ll explore what decolonizing and indigenizing mean to each of us, planting seeds for reflection, dialogue, and change. While this session won’t provide all the answers, it offers a foundation and practical entry points to begin or deepen this work with humility and purpose.

12:30 - 1:30 pm - Lunch Break

There are several dine-in and takeaway options available close by to satisfy your lunch time cravings. You may also want to take this opportunity to take in mountain views and enjoy some time by the water.  Whatever your preference, there is something for everyone!

1:30 - 2:30 pm - Skills-Based Hiring: Realities, Best Practices, and Supporting Students in the Process

Explore the growing shift toward skills-based hiring and what it means for employers, career educators, and students. This session will unpack current realities, highlight best practices from the field, and offer strategies to help students articulate their skills and navigate evolving recruitment processes with confidence.

2:30 - 2:45 pm - Networking & Connection Break 

2:45 - 3:45 pm - Strategies to Thrive in a Tight Labour Market: Student, Career Centre, and Employer Perspectives

With a shifting job market and increased uncertainty, how can career educators and employers help students navigate these challenges? This interactive session will explore emerging trends, share effective strategies, and spark discussion on how we can adapt to best support students and industry.

3:45 - 4:15 pm - Scaling Our Work and Engagement with Post-Secondary Talent

This session highlights innovative approaches to expanding career services and deepening engagement with post-secondary talent. Colleagues will share successful initiatives from their campuses and organizations, followed by a discussion on practical strategies and lessons learned.

4:15 - 4:30 pm - Closing Remarks & Wrap-Up

4:30 - 6:00 pm (or beyond) - Networking Social

Transfers, Cancellations & Event Policies

CACEE understands that from time to time work and life commitments may emerge that will result in your inability to attend the event. Should you need to make an adjustment to or cancel your registration, please e-mail the CACEE National Office at events@cacee.com We ask that you also please kindly note the following policies:

Transfer of Registration

CACEE is able to transfer your registration to another professional from your organization up until the time the registration opens on the day of the event. 

Cancellations

Cancellation requests received:

  • Up to February 28th are eligible for a 100% refund minus a $25 administration fee.
  • March 1st- April 4th are eligible for a 50% refund
  • No refunds will be issued after April 4th.

In lieu of refunds, you are able to transfer your registration at no cost to another professional from your organization up until the time registration opens on the day of the event in accordance with CACEE's transfer policy and procedures.

Other Event Policies 

  • If payment is not received prior to the opening of registration on-site at the event venue, CACEE reserves the right to cancel an attendee's/attendees' registration(s) without prejudice or liability.
  • CACEE reserves the right at any time to change the event venue, topics or speakers, and to cancel the event without prejudice or liability, other than, except where a force majeure (which will have the same meaning as in the applicable contracts with the third party suppliers in connection with the event) event applies, a refund of the registration fees paid. If, because of a force majeure event(s), the CACEE National Board of Directors determines that the event needs to be cancelled, CACEE may deduct fees (determined by reference to the amounts which CACEE is required to pay to third parties under contracts entered into in connection with the event) to any and all refunds issued. Copies of the contractual arrangements with third parties, including the force majeure provisions of those contracts, can be made available to members on request.
  • CACEE follows the guidance of local public health authorities and event venues in relation to health protocols and event policies.  This includes but is not limited to any public health orders or venue requirements (e..g. masking, vaccination) in place prior to or that take effect during the event.
