Tall Ship Silva Sailing Cruise

"Your journey begins on the Halifax waterfront as you set off into the big harbour where you’ll have a unique perspective of some of Halifax’s most notable landmarks including Georges Island, the Halifax Waterfront, Historic Properties, and more. Our guides will share anecdotes of some of the city’s rich history including accounts of Halifax Explosion, lesser-known stories of Halifax shipwrecks, and historical facts about the Silva. Passengers will be invited to help the crew hoist the Silva’s sails, enjoy a beverage or two from the onboard Murphy’s Pub, and then simply sit back, relax and enjoy a beautiful day out on the water."

CACEE Conference attendees who wish to buy a ticket to this public tour can do so on the official Ambassatours website for $32.95 + HST.

A CACEE representative (Carmen Burke) will be in the Marriott Harbourfront lobby to greet guests and accompany them to the boarding dock at 1:15 PM.

Alexander Keith's Brewery Tour

Cost: $33.95 + HST

Join us for a 1-hour public brewery tour followed by a 1-hour private social with complimentary beverages! 

A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door. Please let us know if you will be joining the tour!

Murphy's is a renowned tourist destination and waterfront hot-spot for the best seafood in town. CACEE attendees can look forward to stunning views of the harbour, a three-course meal and live entertainment from Halifamous cover band, Shameless.

Industry Tours

Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 @ 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Industry tours are optional activities that conference attendees may choose to partake in. Participants will be traveling on foot around the downtown area, over a distance of 850m - 1km. It is suggested to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. A CACEE representative will be in the Marriott Harbourfront lobby to greet guests and accompany them on tour. 

Volta

Volta is one of Canada’s largest innovation hubs, located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. Volta aims to create a space where members of the Atlantic Canadian innovation ecosystem can work, connect and learn from one another by accessing co-working space, events and programs.

Halifax Central Library 

Halifax's new Central Library is an award-winning, architecturally stunning building which blends the best of traditional library services with new technology and innovative spaces.  A centre for learning and culture, the Library boasts unique spaces including two cafes, a beautiful performance space, a First-Nations Circle and the Halifax Living room - a reading and relaxing space overlooking Spring Garden Road.  This tour will include all five floors, the feature collections, and public spaces.

The Emera ideaHUB, Dalhousie University's new advanced incubator and maker-space, empowers the next generation of start-up companies with mentorship and technical support to bring their ideas for technology-based products to the market.  Built to the highest LEAD standards, the Emera ideaHUB occupies 10,000 sq.ft. of open-concept office space, workshops and equipment for building and developing prototypes, meeting space, design studio for innovation programming and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.  The Emera ideaHUB provides opportunities for companies to connect with world class researchers and research labs and for students and start-ups to access programming and training in design thinking, building and making, and entrepreneurship.
