Blog > CACEE Award Winner Spotlight
Irene has been a long tenured and tenacious volunteer for the CACEE Community. Since joining the association, she has embraced every facet of what it means to be a CACEE member.
She is keen to share her best practices (being a multi-time presenter at both Regional and National events, active participant in discussions on CACEE social platforms, participation in Member Challenges/Checkpoints), is a trusted collaborator (taking the lead on coffee chats, webinars, etc), ready to volunteer (e.g. her long tenure on the CACEE West regional advisory board), a true advocate for the role career education has to play in the transition from school to work, and a relationship builder. She knows everyone and she leverages her network to build connections and collaborate to take an idea from great to AMAZING!
Her energy and enthusiasm for our space is infectious - she continually pushes the envelope and creatively brings events to her campus community - from career carnivals to hosting students on a bus to showcase careers in transit to setting up a 'living room' in a busy quad for students to enjoy a slice of pizza and get career advice in a comfortable setting.
Finally, Irene has also welcomed and embraced her colleagues with respect, kindness, and enthusiasm - almost every new delegate at a conference remembers when they first met Irene!
Irene is perhaps one of CACEE's greatest cheerleaders and actively promotes what the association has to offer both in and outside of her institution. Irene continues to be a part of the CACEE family and a deserving winner of a Life Membership Award.
