FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SnagPad™ provides exclusive pricing to The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) for its innovative job search learning and management platform for college career centres.

Burlington, Ontario – November 4, 2013 – In keeping with its goals to advance Canadian post-secondary recruitment through appropriate and meaningful collaborative partnerships and to provide value added resources and services to its members, The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) accepted an exclusive pricing arrangement presented by Job Search Board, Inc. (dba SnagPad), provider of a post-secondary career services software application called SnagPad™.

SnagPad is an exciting and innovative job search learning and management platform designed especially to engage student Millennials and alumni alike.  But what exactly is a job search learning and management platform?

SnagPad is the only tool of its kind to combine a learning platform that teaches the job search process through doing and an organizational tool that manages all aspects of the job search from start to finish.  In one online dashboard, students and alumni can: define their ideal job, assess the required skills, knowledge and abilities, search for such jobs, receive leads for such jobs, keep notes, and store contacts and documents for those job opportunities.  Further, a virtual job coach provides strategies and challenges for each opportunity and guides the job seeker all the way through the process, from apply to job acceptance.

Recognizing that most jobs do not come from online job boards, SnagPad instructs and directs the job seeker on methods to engage with one’s personal and social network.  Further, SnagPad serves as a case management and tracking tool for counselors who are supporting the job seeker.  Now Career Centres can obtain never before seen data on the job seeker’s real time job search activity and the employers they are considering and engaging with.

SnagPad™ is the culmination of 15 years of research into strategic career development designed by Dr. JP Hatala, professor in the Career and Work Counselor program at George Brown College.  It is the only system that uses game mechanics to “gamify” the job search process – actually making the process fun and engaging.   Dr. Hatala wanted to create in SnagPad a system that completed the work of the Career Centre by stepping in after the assessment and preparation activities were completed and helping to then train, guide and monitor the actual job search process.

“Canada’s colleges and universities provide career service and / or experiential learning service, staffed by conscientious and committed professionals. Most, if not all, of these services are under-resourced relative to the number of students to be served, and many institutions are reducing the budgets of the departments supporting career education”, said Paul Smith, Executive Director of The

Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).  As such, SnagPad has provided CACEE with substantially discounted pricing to its members.
