CACEE ED Paul D. Smith and Special Guest Sean MacLure discuss Social Recruiting and Applicant Tracking Systems on Blog Talk Radio

TOPIC: Social Recruiting and Applicant Tracking Systems – how technology is changing the job search.

Special Guest: Sean MacLure - Relationship Manager – Finance, Rotman Commerce Career Centre, University of Toronto.

In our digital age, job seekers have easier access to job postings, and they have the capacity to respond to postings much more easily than before. And they take advantage of these opportunities, which is creating an information management problem for recruiters. More and more of them are adopting Applicant Tracking Systems to manage the flood of applicants received in response to their postings. They are also choosing centralized posting sites, such as LinkedIn, to maximize the efficient sharing of positions. These represent systemic changes to the campus recruiting process, and they will require a substantial change in how youth, and their career advisors, engage with employers.

Sean joined the Rotman Commerce Career Centre in July 2009 after gaining close to 6 years Corporate Recruiting experience with BMO Financial Group, State Street Canada and most recently, DundeeWealth.  Sean completed a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Philosophy from New College, also at University of Toronto. As a Relationship Manager, Sean also regularly assists and consults Corporate Partners from the Finance industry with the execution of their recruitment strategy.
