Mike Savage was elected Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality on October 20, 2012. Mayor Savage ran on a platform to make Halifax the most liveable, entrepreneurial and inclusive city in the country, principles that continue to shape his work at City Hall and in the community.

Guest Speaker, Mark Patterson

In this session Mark Patterson, Executive Director of Magnet will discuss how Magnet is helping individuals, who face barriers to employment, secure meaningful employment opportunities. Specifically, Mark will speak to the work that Magnet has done with youth, newcomers to Canada, persons with disabilities and Indigenous peoples. The presentation will also highlight how Magnet can be leveraged by employers seeking to connect with talented job seekers in the four aforementioned groups.

What is your role?  This panel will speak to employer, educator and student perspective on connecting talent with employment and experiential learning opportunities.
