Last year, the National Board outlined a series of priority areas for CACEE as well as some structural changes that would support those priorities. In carrying forward with these priority areas, we require several additional skill sets to complement those already engaged at the National Board level. This creates added opportunity for CACEE members to enhance their own career and professional development through contributing as National Board members of CACEE. All of this is geared toward providing clear return on investment for membership engagement. The skill sets being sought include:

• Business development and relationship building within the SME sector
• Event/conference planning & oversight
• Communication & social media strategy
• Diversity expertise in career development and recruitment
• Career support for Indigenous students
• Supporting all aspects of experiential learning
• Website design/oversight
• French proficiency/translation  
• Association financial management/budget oversight

We certainly recognize that serving on the National Board of CACEE is a significant commitment in time, both personal and on the part of your employer. We are committed to reducing the amount of travel and time required by having shorter virtual monthly meetings rather than quarterly in-person meetings. We anticipate that this will lessen the time commitment and financial impact. It is important to note that should travel be required, only limited financial support is provided for volunteer board members; travel costs are most often borne by Board member’s employers.

We are excited to continue to build member value and to ensure CACEE is meeting your professional development and networking needs. If you are aware of a CACEE colleague who may wish to further develop their skills and leadership experience through volunteering at this pivotal time in the evolution of our Association, we would me most pleased to receive nominations of individuals to serve in the following National Board positions:  

• President Elect (Educator)
• Director Educator
• Director Employer
• Director Affiliate

To place a nomination, please click here and log onto the CACEE website. All nominations must be submitted to the CACEE National Office no later than 3:00 PM EST on February 23, 2018. Voting will take place from March 16 to 12:00 PM EST on March 30, 2018. Terms of office will begin at the Annual General Meeting in May 2018 in Waterloo, Ontario.
