Calling All Senior Career Services Leaders from Colleges, Institutes and Polytechnics...

CACEE invites you to join the Community of Practice (CoP) Roundtable Session focused on "Platforms & Technology: Wins, Learnings, & Best Practices" on October 20th from 12:30 - 1:30 pm Eastern.

What?

As career leaders, we seemingly receive a constant barrage of information from vendors about the latest technology and platforms designed to empower and support our students.

Join us for Platforms & Technology: Wins, Learnings & Best Practices on Friday, October 20th from 12:30 - 1:30 pm Eastern via Zoom

Engage with your colleagues from across Canada as we explore technology and platforms designed to support:

  • Experiential Learning
  • Skill Building
  • International Students & Equity-Deserving Groups
  • Mentorship & Career Success

as well as delve into strategies for evaluation, wins, key learnings, and pitfalls to avoid.

This Roundtable Session is offered via the CACEE Senior College, Institute, and Polytechnic Career Leaders Community of Practice (CoP). There is no cost to attend.

The Senior College, Institute, and Polytechnic Career Leaders CoP is driven and informed by the community it serves, with an intent to:

  • Explore emerging trends, issues, and topics identified as a collective
  • Support you in generating solutions and pragmatic approaches to common challenges, opportunities, and what is keeping you up at night
  • Be a space to share resources, exchange ideas, challenge one another, spark innovation, celebrate the wins, and examine common issues in a space focused on leadership
  • Evolve with the college, institute, and polytechnic national landscape

The infrastructure, logistics support, and technology underpinning the CoP are provided by the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).

The CoP levarages three platforms to engage and facilitate dialogue amongst its members:

  1. A National Listerv
  2. A minimum of 2 virtual roundtable sessions per year
  3. 1 in-person roundtable session annually as a part of the CACEE National Conference

** The Listserv will be open to all members of the CoP at no cost as a value-add to the sector.  In order to attend future virtual  and in-person roundtable sessions, members will need to be a part of both the CoP and CACEE.

Who?

The Senior College, Institute, or Polytechnic Career Leaders CoP is for professionals with operational, strategic, and financial accountability for career services:

  • on their college, institute, or polytechnic campus
  • in their school or faculty
  • for their institution

in any region of Canada. In the spirit of fairness, it is requested that only one senior leader (ideally the most senior) from each institution be a part of the CoP. The exception of course being, where there are leaders at a similar job level at an institution with multiple campuses, decentralized operations, or faculty-based career services.

** Please note that a National Listserv is open to all members of the CoP as a value add to the sector.  In order to participate in any future in-person and virtual roundtable sessions, CoP members will need to be a part of both the CoP and CACEE.

CACEE intends to offer additional CoPs as a part of our professional community tailored to the needs of frontline practitioners, disciplines, student identities, and employers in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned as these may also be of interest to you or your team!

Why?

The professional development needs and opportunities, challenges, and issues faced by Senior College, Institute, and Polytechnic Career Leaders are distinct. In consultation with the sector, it became clear that creating a CoP with a national scope would add significant value, foster greater opportunities for collaboration and best practice sharing, and further professional learning and development across the space.

Join the conversation and share your perspectives by signing up for the Roundtable Session on October 20th below!  If you have questions or would like to discuss this CoP in greater detail, please reach out to the CACEE National Office at info@cacee.com.
