The CACEE Canada West Regional Advisory Board invites you to attend a one-day professional development event full of:

9:30 am - Enabling Green Skill Development in the Journey to Net Zero with RBC Future Launch and LinkedIn Learning | Hybrid

According to LinkedIn's Global Green Skills Report 2022, green talent in the workforce worldwide is rising. Jobs are a critical part of the conversation about achieving this green transition. We need to zoom in on the skills that power these jobs - green skills. We believe real change will come through a skills-based approach to opportunity. Younger generations are making fast progress regarding green skills. LinkedIn data shows that there is growth in green talent across all age groups in almost every country, but younger generations are showing the largest growth across the world. This essuib will provide insights and key takeaways regarding how to best leverage LinkedIn Learning with a focus on skills and opportunities for individuals to learn and grow.

This session is delivered in conjunction with the 2023 At the Forefront Webinar Series presented by CACEE in partnership with RBC Future Launch.

11:00 am - Focus on International Students with Pat Chaisang - ISEMPOWER | Hybrid

The needs surrounding career development and the post-secondary to career transition for international students are distinct and nuanced. This session will explore best practices for engaging and supporting international students, the impacts of policy governing international students in the workplace, an overview of ISEMPOWER, and strategies for cultivating an inclusive talent pipeline.

Attendees will learn how to utilize Instagram Livestream to engage with stakeholders, and create compelling, on-demand, and value-rich resources that take your career services or employer brand to the next level!

For the last 9 years, she has had a passion for the public sector and more recently, working closely with Workforce Development and Economic Development organizations. Charlotte Vis van Heemst | Career Consultant – International Students | Career Development Centre | I.H. Asper School of Business - University of Manitoba

Charlotte Vis van Heemst is a purpose driven career development & communications professional with 10+ years of experience working in various key-industries in Europe and North-America. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Management Support, in addition to a Career & Employment Coach Certificate from the University of Winnipeg. Charlotte is committed to using her global perspective and cross-cultural experience to lead and advance educational initiatives and inclusivity.

Charlotte currently works at the Asper School of Business as a Career Consultant, where she continues to do work rooted in supporting and assisting (international) business students on their career journeys. Charlotte also serves as an active member on the The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) West advisory board, where she contributes her communications talent and expertise to explore and advance virtual delivery of career development services in collaboration with career professionals across Western Canada. 

Her commitment to creating all-embracing environments has forged strong partnerships within the business community and beyond, and continues to allow her to act with integrity and in alignment with her core values of inclusivity, freedom, and empowerment.
