Every year we look forward to this important time to connect, share and learn together. As I’m sure you are aware, we are facing a unique global challenge with the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic, sparking alarming global public health concerns. Today the risk of exposure in Canada is low but things are changing on a daily basis.
With this in mind, and after very careful consideration, we have decided to postpone our conference to a later date in the year to ensure we do our part to limit the spread of this virus, and to accommodate those who are facing current and anticipated travel restrictions prohibiting their attendance. Trevor Buttrum is an award-winning leader in the campus recruitment and career education space. He leverages 15+ years of front-line and supervisory experience to lead the Career Connections program at the Insurance Institute of Canada which empowers career seekers to find their place in the property & casualty insurance industry. He is also currently the Director, Marketing & Communications on the CACEE National Board. Some of Trevor’s previous engagement with CACEE includes Director, Affiliate on the national board (2015-17), a National Conference Co-Chair (2015), an Ontario Regional Conference Co-Chair (2016), and co-leader of the CACEE Competency Ambassador Team (2016-Present). Catherine Stace manages Career Services at McGill University’s Max Bell School of Public Policy. An expert in the school to career transition, Catherine works closely with graduate students helping them find meaningful careers, and equally closely with employers to find the right talent. She has chaired numerous regional and national conferences and is a sought-after guest speaker at career forums and symposiums. Driven by the belief that Canadian youth should have access to high quality career development and experimental learning opportunities Catherine sits on the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers’ national board, Quebec Regional Advisory Board, and Youth Employment Services’ Quebec Provincial Employment Round-table committee. CACEE reserves the right at any time to change the conference venue, topics or speakers, and to cancel the conference without liability, other than, except where a force majeure (which will have the same meaning as in the applicable contract with the third party supplier in question) event applies, a refund of the conference fees paid. If, because of force majeure event, the CACEE Board of Directors determines that the conference needs to be cancelled, CACEE may apply a deduction from the refund of contribution fees determined by reference to the amounts which CACEE is required to pay to third parties under contracts entered into in connection with the conference. Copies of the contractual arrangements with third parties, including the force majeure provisions of those contracts, can be made available to members on request. If you are registered for the conference and need to cancel, you must send written notice of cancellation to the CACEE Management Office (c/o Melanie Smilynov) by April 30 in order to receive a full refund. Between May 1 and May 20 there will be a cancellation/processing fee of $150.00 for members and $200.00 for non-members. AFTER MAY 20, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
