With recent announcements from federal and provincial governments and focus in national media, supporting International Students has continued to be a hot topic for both career educators and employers thus far in 2024! Join the conversation with this interactive session and ask your burning questions to a special advisor to the Government of BC and former senior student affairs leader with deep expertise in programming and services for international students.  This can't miss dialogue is an up-close and personal opportunity to better understand the intersection of these policy changes with our work supporting the journey from post-secondary to career success for this key talent demographic.

Enjoy lunch at one of the many nearby food courts and eateries that downtown Vancouver has to offer! You are also invited to take a walk by the water, network with your fellow attendees, take in one of the close-by outdoor plazas and parks, or feel free to bring your lunch back to the venue.

12:45 - 1:45 pm - GenAI: Best Practices & Practical Applications with Post-Secondary Talent


This session aims to offer a comprehensive exploration of GenAI and its potential in post-secondary career settings. Through a blend of sharing best practices and hands-on exploration of specific prompts and ideas, participants will gain the skills needed to leverage GenAI effectively      within their career practice and boost your productivity.

  • Understanding GenAI: Exploring the features and functionalities of GenAI to gain a solid grasp of its capabilities.
  • Maximizing Productivity: Sharing best practices and techniques for optimizing productivity and effectiveness when utilizing GenAI.

1:45 - 2:45 pm - Panel Discussion - Navigating Canada's Shifting Labour Market: Strategies for Career Educators, Employers, & Industry Collaboration

Canada's labour market has been shifting rapidly in the wake of the pandemic, demographic crunches, climate change, and economic uncertainty. This panel discussion aims to contextualize the emerging trends being observed, examine winning approaches to cultivate the early talent pipeline, inform and strengthen equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, and explore opportunities to optimize collaboration between post-secondary career centres and employers to drive the skills agenda forward and meet talent needs.

3:00 - 3:45 pm - Spotlight on Innovative Programming & Practice

This fast-paced popcorn style session will spotlight examples of innovation in action in the areas of technology, engagement with diverse talent pools, industry and post-secondary collaboration, campus ambassador programs, and more! Get ready to come away with lots of ideas and concrete strategies to share with your team!

The Library Square is a short 1-minute walk from Northeastern University - Vancouver Campus. Grab a bite, sip a          beverage of choice, and share highlights from the day in this casual setting. Please note that this is a pay-own event.

Transfers, Cancellations & Event Policies

CACEE understands that from time to time work and life commitments may emerge that will result in your inability to attend the event. Should you need to make an adjustment to or cancel your registration, please e-mail the CACEE National Office at events@cacee.com We ask that you also please kindly note the following policies:

Transfer of Registration

CACEE is able to transfer your registration to another professional from your organization up until the time the registration opens on the day of the event. 


Cancellation requests received:

  • Up to March 1st are eligible for a 100% refund minus a $10 administration fee.
  • March 2nd - April 1st are eligible for a 50% refund
  • No refunds will be issued after April 1st.

In lieu of refunds, you are able to transfer your registration at no cost to another professional from your organization up until the time registration opens on the day of the event in accordance with CACEE's transfer policy and procedures.

Other Event Policies 

  • If payment is not received prior to the opening of registration on-site at the event venue, CACEE reserves the right to cancel an attendee's/attendees' registration(s) without prejudice or liability.
  • CACEE reserves the right at any time to change the event venue, topics or speakers, and to cancel the event without prejudice or liability, other than, except where a force majeure (which will have the same meaning as in the applicable contracts with the third party suppliers in connection with the event) event applies, a refund of the registration fees paid. If, because of a force majeure event(s), the CACEE National Board of Directors determines that the event needs to be cancelled, CACEE may deduct fees (determined by reference to the amounts which CACEE is required to pay to third parties under contracts entered into in connection with the event) to any and all refunds issued. Copies of the contractual arrangements with third parties, including the force majeure provisions of those contracts, can be made available to members on request.
  • CACEE follows the guidance of local public health authorities and event venues in relation to health protocols and event policies.  This includes but is not limited to any public health orders or venue requirements (e..g. masking, vaccination) in place prior to or that take effect during the event.
