The TRU Career and Experiential Learning Department recently launched an Open Career Textbook, "From University to Career: Creating a Successful Transition".  This textbook is a FREE Open Educational Resource (OER) designed for the seamless integration of interactive tools, learning activities, and resources into workshops, co-curricular certificates and micro-credentials, classroom presentations, courses (both credit and non-credit), drop-in sessions and even 1:1 student appointments!

Join the textbook's Editor and an Open Education Librarian from TRU for an enriching session for Senior Career Leaders to explore:

Brenda Smith (she/her)
Open Education Librarian
Thompson Rivers University

Brenda has championed open education across local, provincial, national, and international platforms. At TRU, she advises faculty on finding/using open educational resources (OER), incorporating open practices into their teaching and has facilitated numerous OER writing sprints. Brenda received the BCcampus Award for Excellence in Open Education in 2020 and the COPPUL [Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries] Outstanding Contribution Award in 2022. She holds a MLIS from the University of British Columbia and a MA (History) from Simon Fraser University.

Jamie is the Editor of "From University to Career: Creating a Successful Transition", an open textbook for Co-op and Career Education practitioners to utilize with their students.  She sits on the ACE-WIL Provincial Board, BC WIL Council, CPHR Central Interior Advisory Board and CACEE National Board of Directors.  Jamie was recently awarded a CACEE Excellence in Innovation Award - Campus Recruitment Strategy and Employer Branding in 2023.

Please Note: The target audience of this virtual workshop is Senior Career Leaders. There is a session scheduled on April 5th, 2024 which is designed for frontline practitioners, individual contributors, and operational leaders.
