Series Overview

The CACEE Ontario Regional Advisory Board is excited to invite you to the 2024 CACEE Summer Professional Development Series. Join your colleagues from across the country in conversation with thought leaders and change-makers from leading employers, post-secondary institutions, and organizations in our space. Sessions will explore key influences on the Canadian Labour Market in this era of change and innovative programming to attract, retain, and engage top post-secondary talent.

The series features two engaging panel discussions tailored to the needs of career educators, talent acquisition partners, experiential learning coordinators, HR and career leaders, hiring managers, employer relations specialists, and early talent recruiters,

Spotlight on Investing in Talent Equity: Examining Innovation and Impact in Rotational and Leadership Development Programs

This session will shine a spotlight on rotational and leadership development programs which:

Panelists will explore their innovative programs for post-secondary talent (from both undergraduate and graduate/professional programs) emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration with educational institutions and industry. They will also discuss the importance of investing in talent equity, share strategies and metrics for enhancing program impact, and highlight success stories and lessons learned.

Labour Market Influencers & Game-Changers: Practical Approaches to Meeting Talent Needs in Times of Change

From the impact of AI and climate change to the evolving expectations of the workforce in the wake of the pandemic to the impact of policy changes for International Students, this panel will examine how these game changers are reshaping labour markets, employers’ skills requirements, as well as education and career landscapes.

Panelists will engage in an interactive conversation which will:

  • Provide actionable insights on navigating and leveraging these drivers of the future of work
  • Share perspectives on future-ready skills and avenues for students in developing and showcasing these skills while studying and in the workplace
  • Challenge conventional career paradigms and present innovative talent solutions
  • Highlight successful collaborations between industry, post-secondary institutions and career centres in meeting talent needs

Option to Earn a Micro-Credential

Participants can opt-in as a part of their registration to completing a Capstone Learning Activity rooted in session content and the CACEE competencies. This 30-minute reflection exercise will provide you with:

  • an opportunity to apply what you have learned in your context and role
  • reinforcement of key concepts and take-a-ways from the session(s)
  • a certificate of completion and badge that you can share with your network

The deadline to submit Capstone Learning Activities is July 31st at 5:00 pm Eastern.

Event Policies

  • Participants who are not able to attend the live panel(s) can opt to receive the recording or transfer their registration to another team member
  • All Capstone Learning Activities must be submitted by July 31st at 5:00 pm Eastern in order to be eligible for the micro-credential.
  • The deadline for CACEE Member Organizations to sign-up to be a part of the Friend of CACEE Program is June 27th at 5:00 pm Eastern. CACEE reserves the right to request copies of e-mails sent or screen captures of social media posts in support of promoting the series to a participating member organization's networks at any time. Failure to produce these may result in revocation of complimentary registrations or the issuance of an invoice at full price for any registrations for the series.
  • CACEE reserves the right to change, add, or remove speakers from each of the panels presented as a part of the series.
  • No refunds are available for this event.
