The CACEE Career Peer Coordinators Community of Practice (CoP) invites you to attend their upcoming virtual roundtable session:

Training & On-Boarding Peer Educators/Advisors (CPEs/CPAs)

Join us in conversation with subject matter experts who will guide participants through an examination of Training & On-boarding of Peer Educators/Advisors (CPEs/CPAs). Together, we will explore:

• Best practices for equipping new CPEs/CPAs with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to understand and excel in their role
• Structures which help to maximize training and on-boarding programming
• Essential topics to include in training sessions and on-going professional development
• Strategies to drive learning engagement, skill building, and retention

Akshay Arora (he/him)
Career Services Advisor
Yorkville University

Akshay Arora has 3+ years of experience in the career development landscape within Canadian post-secondary education. He is a member of CERIC’s Content and Learning Committee and has collaborated on inclusive programming within Student Ambassador and Peer Mentor initiatives. Akshay is passionate about culturally integrated, inclusive programming that creates safer, more equitable spaces. He leads with a systems-level perspective and is driven to be a change agent in the field.

Rajat Virdi (he/him)
Student Activities Coordinator, Student Services
Yorkville University  

Rajat Virdi currently shoulders the position of Student Activities Coordinator at Yorkville University, BC Campus. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Publishing (with Co-op Experience). With a strong background in outreach, events, and engagement, and with an industry experience of 4+ years, he feels privileged to have witnessed the profound impact that quality education and learning has on students' lives. Guided by this student-centric philosophy, he firmly believes that education extends beyond the confines of the classroom and is driven by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge.

About the CACEE Career Peer Coordinators CoP

The Career Peer Coordinators Community of Practice (CoP) brings together career leaders, educators, and coordinators who support peer educators—whether paid or volunteer—within career centres across Canada. This group serves as a space to exchange best practices, discuss challenges, and collaborate on ways to enhance career peer programs.

and is administered as a value add to professionals supporting the journey from post-secondary studies to career success by the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).  The CoP offers participants a CoP E-mail Forum to stay connected throughout the year, a minimum of 3 virtual sessions per year and the opportunity to connect at the CACEE National Conference or PD Events.  There is no cost to participate.
