As post-secondary institutions continue to grapple with demographic shifts, lower enrollment, increased global competition, higher tuition, and lower governmental funding, institutions are looking at ways to improve recruitment, retention and student graduate outcome.

raditionally, post-secondary Career/Employment Centres have been viewed by administration and faculty as a student support services that are separate and independent of the academic programming of the institution, however with the recent attention to student outcomes by government, the media and student stakeholder groups, career centres are in a unique position to effect change.  This webinar will be presented by two faculty member working in the Thompson Rivers University Career Education Department in Kamloops, BC.  Shawn Read and Larry Iles will speak about the strategies adopted by their department to position Career Education as viable and important component of a university students academic life.
